I have decided I want to stop smoking. The day of my last cigarette will be the 12th of July.
I had attempts to stop smoking before and the most succesful ones I had
- were I exposed myself
- I made a plan on what to do if the addiction strikes hard
- I had something to gain and loose more then my health
Therfore I came up with following idea.
The Yoga instructor of the studio I go to is working with orphans here in Thailand and if I fail I will triple the amount of the money this post makes and donate it to her and her cause. Up to 1000 Euro as I do not have infinite money. (not expecting this post will do this good but one can hope, right?)

If I am not in Thailand anymore and I fail I want to donate to a cause against depression where I still have to look into and open for suggestions also.
I am smoking with a couple of breaks for 18 years now and I am up to 20-30 cigarettes a day.
As I started to do more sport and also following the Wim Hof course breathing and health became more and more important for me the last 2 months.
"But Tobi, who do we know you are not cheating?"
I guess you have to trust me on this. In the end it is my own interest to live a more healthy life. I see myself as pretty honest and I hope you will trust me that I will be honest and man enough and pay up in case I should fail.
"You just doing this in hope of a succesful post"
Yes and no. As I hope for participation so I get motivation to stick to my goal and create some pressure for myself. To stop smoking will is the thing which would give me the most gains in my BJJ, Yoga and Wim Hof journeys. Also on my Wim Hof diary I have noticed how motivating it is to have people support and cheer for you and this is what I want and need to have for this task also.
"Why dont you stop today?"
In the 18 years of my smoking experience I have tried multiple times to quit. Some were more succesful then others and those were the ones I prepared mentally for and set a date.
A resteem of this post would be highly appricated to get an interestig bet going.
To only breathing fresh air in the near future

A good reason to stop smoking is start smoking; think about that,......
true
I will just not smoke the first of the day
Cold turkey might work for some people but I always find it easier to do things in steps.
I'm more lenient on myself but I have lines that I never cross.
I quit drinking soda and eating fast food this way. With soda, I used to drink 3 times a day(insane, right?), the first three months I made a rule to limit to only once a day. I never broke this rule and the one soda a day was really a relief at first but then it became normal.
Then during the summer I made a big jump to only drinking soda twice a week on the weekends. It was hard as hell for a month but then once the school semester started again I forgot about how hard it was.
Then from there I just forgot about drinking soda, I didn't really want it that much anymore.
If you quit cold turkey you might find yourself developing another bad habit to compensate. Give yourself space to adjust, but never break your own rules. That works for me at least.
I find for cigarettes it makes them more "valuable" and I cant wait to have my next one when I set myself rules to just smoke x amount of cigarettes. Which made me more addicted mentally to them.
I will see.
As more you are addicted as more you have to gain is one of my mantras atm.
Support me with a donation of a transfer of 2 SBD, with your help I will be close to helping my family in situation of poverty, thank you.
