What frustrates me the most is upvotes for the money, not for the content. I often see very poor content getting lots of upvotes. Secondly, it gotta be people fishing for upvotes. They can be more or less clear about it. Sometimes you'll see ordinary comments, again and again, but never an upvote.
I never joined any group to help me getting more upvotes and make my content stand out. I've just followed a consistent path, growing slowly but steadily. Maybe I should. But I never took the time to do it.

The thing is that with steemfollowers only good content gets upvoted, and with minnowsupport the upvote is only worth like $0.15 which is not that much but it's still something.
I have never spent sbd for upvotes , and i probably never will, even though i think i write and create good content.
Remember, steemit is not only a blogging platform but it is also a social network platform, so joining groups and making friends is only natural imho
