My steemit analysis
1 - Steemit has been released to public : The First encouraging days
As probably some of you, I have been informed about this concept by seeing this coin growing in the different markets. After some research, I have been really interested. So I have invested my time and money in STEEM (And converted it into Steem power).
I have tried at the beginning to write posts with efforts as English is not my native language and got quickly a bit disappointed when my Posts received only few votes and comments. Then, as an experimentation, I have posted funny GIF and "Easy" news and got more return and votes than time I have invested in my previous Posts.
Then, you try to understand what wrong you did. you are looking the top Posts and most of the time your are seeing girls with boobs writing on a paper Steemit and the Date. and then a story with of course some attractive pictures. And in a short time this post is making tons of votes and money.
So it's clearly discouraging to post quality content as the reward is not enough attractive for the time passed to write a Post. In the other hand, it encourage scammer girls and persons to continue to Post things like that as they know they can make tons of money easily.
2 - What will happen ?
We will have less quality content and more crap ones. The person who wanted to invest time and money will leave and they will not participate in the votes and comments anymore. Then, the scammy girls will leave when they will see that's not anymore attractive for them. The number of active users will be reduced and this project will start dying.
Whales are thinking that it will attract peoples but steemit is not facebook yet and every project need times and investment to grow.
Just look at Twitch and these girls who take advantages of the community by playing games and earning money instead of beeing cam girls. It's working well for them and for sure be the same here if it's also working.
Next time on : Steemit ?
But the result might be not the same as you are currently thinking. And may, your investment could be lost.
3 - What to do ?
It would be a good start to stop supporting these kind of posts and start supporting creative, new content and quality post. By doing it, it will encourage everyone to be rewarded by their time passed and their investment instead of having lucks and... boobs. It's not necessary to precipitate the subscription of new users. By doing quality content, we will have a better community with less trash posts and opportunists.
Cheers
Been on steem for a week and I've realized it sucks...
I'm not really interested in earning "steem" or "steem dollars". I came from the bitshares community (the community that Dan Larimer, creator of steem, came from). Many of the "whales" here are bitshares investors or developers who started early here. I try to post useful content or bugs and errors I find, but it's covered up within seconds with garbage posts.
This place is a giant circle jerk. A race to upvote or comment on every post with a chick in it. Many of the comments I see are not relevant, or are just a GIF with a one word like "cool" or "Awesome!".
Right now I think there is massive amounts of manipulation, both in content curation and market cap. Steem was designed from the very begining to show a large, yet extremely illiquid, market cap. Add in some hot girls, and who can resist money and women. I don't think Dan realized that this place would be inundated with garbage...
As we see now the bubble in steem is popping. We'll see how many people are still hanging around here as the market cap keeps falling.
I think we're having ups and downs. I haven't been around for a long time either but I see the junk piling up now more than last week for ex. but probably less than next week.
I also think that we're seeing strong trends on content curation, people down-voting bots, nsfw posts that don't have that as the primary tag. Maybe this crowd is now smaller than the one voting for boobs and pot (which I don't have anything against but should be in their own place not on the steemit tag page).
There's also the whales. Some of them try to keep things tight but more need to get involved. If whales downvote posts on some clearly transparent established rules (bots, wrong tag, lottery, etc.) then those people would be discouraged to post more and more.
The community is waking up. Now it's a steemrush, everyone wants money, but I think soon, real content seekers will prevail.

Fucking manipulated site
If you want change, then you need a leader who believes in this cause. And that leader is @abit, vote for him as a witness here: https://steemit.com/money/@positive/vote-for-abit-as-a-witness-get-a-real-shot-at-making-money-quick-read-steemit-politics
@abit has done a lot for bitshares. I would definitely vote for him
Damn straight brother! unfortunately the world is full to bursting with people that chase the money come hell or high water!
But you will always get this on any social media platform its more pronounced at the moment because of the rewards and also the kind of people who would have hears about Steemit so far.
Eventually with enough users the pointless posts will (hopefully) be outweighed by the quality posts.
