RE: Money For Nothing and Chicks For Free

Maybe you're paying too much attention to the wrong people. It's easy to be judgemental and assume someone's life. Not many people really have an easy life.

Sometimes I actually wonder how many hours it takes you to get some of the shots. You could, of course, stretch out posts, put up shots from other days, ramble on endlessly, but isn't that what a lot of us are doing occasionally? We get rewarded for our content by the followers we develop over time. Are we any less deserving of our votes than any other content producers? Well, Jerry is, but most of the rest of us are fine.

Sort:

I pay attention to a lot of things around me, by I don't give a damn about the haters. They actually just add fuel to my fire.

None of us are entitled to earn anything, that is the base line. It's about entertaining or educating people in a way that interests so much that people want to support it.

If the followers that you have developed upvote your post to a certain degree, and it makes it to payout without being flagged, then you are by definition entitled to that. You don't magically get that money though. People choose to upvote you. You aren't entitled to their votes...but they kinda are entitled to use them.

Talking about "entitlements" is dangerous. Everyone these days seems to feel the need to tell people they aren't "entitled" to whatever. Of course, we aren't "entitled" to much. Look at the people on the street. Anyone of us could be there tomorrow. What happens if your house burns down? What happens if something happens with the bank and your account is frozen or zeroed out? What happens if you're in an accident? We're all a lot closer to the edge than any of us realize. On here, it's a bit more obvious. Every vote is freely given. People choose where to put them. Any day we could stop being upvoted, or for that matter, be upvoted a ton.
