I am steemingly mad, after seeing the same articles posted on Steemit.com as 'original works', time after time.
Being an avid reader, always up-to-date on the latest news on cryptocurrencies and technology- I had seen numerous plagiarized articles taken from CoinDesk re-posted on Steemit.com.
There surely should be a mechanism besides the downvoting used to verify articles and content?! Something akin to the way people on Instagram give acknowledgement to someone else's image or content.
I don't mind people's opinions or introductions but articles copied verbatim are really frustrating to read and a waste of time. Furthermore, readers upvote this content thinking it's the 'real mccoy', profiting of others ignorance.People actually upvote this stolen content. The first thing that comes to mind is the advertising campaign for pirated/copied DVDs ," You Wouldnt steal a car"- so why steal other people's intellectual property?!
Please verify your content by acknowledging the source or referencing the site.

To clarify, some people believe that simply "referencing" where you duplicated the content from makes a post valid.
People don't want to see duplicate content "even if" you reference where you got it from.
Steemit isn't just a news ticker. (Not saying that you said that, but I wanted to point it out)
I, myself, want to read and see unique content, or content "with a different spin" on things.
For instance, if the news of the day is that a polar bear in Alaska boarded a boat. Don't just copy/paste an existing article.
Instead you could write your own interpretation of what happened, what you think about the polar bear boarding the boat, etc. (and then if you wanted, put a link to the article that inspired you to write what you did).
You are definitely an intelliguy @intelliguy, I could not agree more with this post! I am of the same view. You need to at least put some effort in reaping the upvote reward. They need to have some sort of duplicating filtre? what do you think? @intelliguy
We're all the duplicating filter. We can't just win rewards for contributing, without helping to sweep the floor in this establishment when it gets dirty.
