RE: Are You Traveling for Thanksgiving?

in #steemit6 years ago

Well, @themanwithnoname, it's been a while since I've done any traveling on Thanksgiving. We've been holding our own for several years, and will be doing so again.

However, I will be traveling from my bedroom downstairs to the diningroom to eat. Does that count? Okay, probably not. :)

How about yourself? Any travel plans? Any gatherings taking place?

Unless our oldest son and his very pregnant wife decide to surprise us (which they have done in the past but it's less likely to happen this time), it will be myself, my wife, my youngest, his wife, and their daughter. This won't be her first Thanksgiving, but if I remember right, it is the first that she might at least get to try some food.

As Grandpa, you probably have the right/expectation to hold the event, so that makes sense. Your commute to the festivities does sounds like a good deal. Make sure to wear your sweatpants down there, so you won't have to go back upstairs to change. ;)

We'll be visiting some of my relatives locally. It should be a good time.

You've still got a good crew there for enjoying the festivities. Have lots of fun (and many plates of seconds)!

I'll be fortunate to get through the first plate. Probably should skip some meals between now and then, maybe go run some laps somewhere. Hang up side down for a while. Go back in time and lose the weight I should have lost before now. Something.

Well thanks for the well-wishes. Have a good time, yourself. I might capture some food images for posting. I'm sure no one will want to be in them. :)

I'm determined to take advantage of the opportunity to eat Thanksgiving food. I should make a good dent in the food, but definitely not like I used to do. Just don't overeat. I've had years where I was in gain because I ate too much. I'm going to drink a lot of water first so I don't overindulge. :D

Oh, I've had the pain happen way too soon, so unfair, and then I wanted to sleep for the rest of the time, more unfairness. Getting old is for the birds. Maybe the young should feel it for a while, just to scare the living daylights out of them and help them make better decisions. But only if it prolongs my youth. I think I saw that in a sci-fi/fantasy/horror/superhero movie once. :)
