What can the 81,000 likes in Facebook offer?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

So Facebook congratulated me for having 81,000 likes on my posts! What do I get from it? A capital "N" for Nothing! 😂 If these were upvotes on my Steemit posts, I will drown with my tears of joy! 😂

Unsaon man ma'am, sa Facebook raman to😂😂😂😂

I can imagine how much money you would make if those 81,000 likes were from steemit.

Exactly! This is a very fine example of how different Facebook and Steemit are! Soon, Steemit will eat up Facebook alive!

Well, we should just be thankful facebook offers all their services and features for free. Way back and up until now, there are still platforms that charge users for their service, while facebook is there for everyone to use even if it doesn't pay users to post. Steemit is entirely different. It is there for content resource so I think comparing the two monetarily is a bit rubbish.

say that first of all, it would be not only ridiculous but also lethal to their business if a company aspiring to be a monopolist in the social media department charged you for their services while also bombarding you with personalised ads from every corner

Second of all, when it comes to the Internet, it is irrelevant what it used to be and Facebook did not decide to offer its services charge free because they were so gratuitous - they simply had to adapt to the already established convention, otherwise they would have failed to the former leaders in the field such as Myspace.

Thirdly, I don't quite understand your attack on me. Never did I say that I demand money from Facebook, I merely pointed out that I prefer Steemit's business model because your efforts, while being admired by others, may also make your living. Earning from expressing your passions to the world has long been popularised by Youtube and I believe it is a good practice because it facilitates creativity and innovation. This is how the future is being shaped in the social media and while not offering any incentive whatsoever is already dated, requiring appreciation for being a charge-free platform is simply absurd. Besides, even Facebook see that - they have recently introduced a reward system, although only concerning videos. ☺

Sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel attacked in some way. I just pointed out my perspective and plain, honest 'opinion' just like I would do on any other platform. Just don't expect everyone to agree with you all the time. Yes, we value our reputation but that doesn't mean we stop contradicting for the sake of image. Just a thought, nothing personal. Sorry again.

No worries, I'm also sorry for misjudging your intentions.

I don't expect everyone to agree with my opinions, but at the same time I am willing to defend my point of view. I believe that dialogue is always valuable.
