Doe's it not worry you that @steemit has been selling a huge amount of Steem over the last few months and even today through the @alpha account? I have only come back to steemit thinking it is back to a decent market price but if the dev's are selling almost 40% of there stake why should we have faith?

That is the beautiful thing about the Steem blockchain, if Steemit stopped upgrading their website I would just switch to busy or another API. If they sold all of their stake the price would dip, recover and move on. The platform is open source and isn't reliant on anyone but the community.
SMT's are entirely reliant on the people who are selling the shares. That would worry me personally but maybe there is more too it.
SMT is not needed to an API - think DTube and DLive - They are not controlled at all by Ned or Steemit. The point is the Steem blockchain is here and not going anywhere, regardless if steemit inc dumps all their shares and Ned jumps out a plane with no parachute, we are here as long as 21 BPs are cranking out blocks.
