Does choice of username affects steemit account?

in #steemit6 years ago

Hi Steemians, today i wanna ask a Big question here on steemit. I know there are much questions that has been answered about steemit and how it works, but yet there are still most intriguing questions i ask myself and some people on steemit that i never get the answer to.

Well i joined steemit towards the ending of January this Year, and this question of whether a username on steemit can affect your steemit growth or reputation? I choose @goal300 to be my username as i signed up for steemit because i am a blogger whom has a blog with the domain name goal300.com. MY intentions was to always write about football analysis as per original content. But since i started i have not been getting much likes(upvotes) nor curations to each of my original content here on steemit.

Now my question is; was it because i am using a username that doesn't seem to be a person's name? becuase i noticed here on steemit that people whom are using names tend to be more successful than those using some kind of words as thier username, if this so, why will it be ?

Ofocurse i know steemit reputation, followers and steempower are the major things that can give you influence on steemit. Sometimes i check people's profile of same steempower and steemit reputation compared with other people having same reutation and steempower both posting original content, but yet have very far upvotes value than the other. I know that most people uses upvotes bots like: smartsteem, minoebooster, randowhale, booster and much more, i use that too sometimes. I feel like the reason an account like mine whom has 71.752 steempower and 53 steemit reputation doesn't have more influence despite it's original contents is because of the username i have choosen.

So does username on steemit affects the steemit account influence despite it's reputation and steempower? Thank you.
