the point of this post is that the usefulness of a post is not just how much information is put into it, but how much utility it creates for the reader
That's exactly right. After making a long post about one of your favorite niches you will think/ expect good responses from the community. But in reality, opposite thing might happen. The readers who are similarly interested in your chosen niche may be on vacation or busy with something else.
A different flavor in posts are OK for a time being but one author should keep posting posts on the niche which his/her readers like to read or response more :)
