I like this post a lot. A lot of great points were underlined that we feel but don't put into words. While reading it you get this feeling - that you understand what the author is talking about :-)
Steemit needs this kind of competing edge. While shitbook and twatter use this strategy shamelessly, Steemit informs it's users about it. Obviously nobody comes knocking to your door to outline these points but by the way interface is designed, if you want to use it then you have look at this aspect directly.
A lot of people complain about the difficulty level of using steemit (and I agree to some extent), there is a very good reason why steemit interface is like it is - It is built to be transparent.
