@luzcypher, new people are often encouraged to come here and get "money" for just posting a post and all will be well. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There are so many times we sort through the introduceyourself posts and have to explain how to better their searches, their content, their everything and they are so appreciative that a real someone stopped by long enough to throw them a bone of information. It's rather sad.
However, there are quite a few people out there that will upvote the introductory posts and that makes the new Steemians very happy. But a couple of weeks later they are not getting hardly any notice, upvotes, or engagement. This is the time we should be investing our upvotes, time, and energy in these new people. Thank goodness for groups like @welcomewagon, @minnowbootcamp, so many others who grab up these people and mentor them.
This was the reason we started the discord server The Steem Terminal. We are a place where new people can come to figure out how to use discord, promote their posts, give real-time answers to their real-time questions, and help them find a place to get mentors. With that said, we are still trying to find all the mentoring communities in the discord side of the Steem Community. So, tell your friends who are into mentoring to come see us so they can meet and engage with new people. Here is the link to the server: https://discord.gg/XZGPGpz
Thanks so much for bringing this topic up and allowing me to talk a little about who we are and what we are trying to do.
