Washington: Facebook Inc said on Friday that it has removed more accounts created in Iran, which has attracted more than 1 million American and British followers, the latest attempt to counter the deformation activity on its platform.
Social media company removed 82 pages, groups and accounts on Facebook and Instagram, which showed themselves as American or British citizens, then posted on “Politically charged” topics such as Race Relationships, U.S. President Donald Trump and In protest of immigration, Facebook’s Cyber Security Policy, Nathaniel Flesher said in a blog post.
Altogether, deleted accounts attracted more than 1 million followers. Facebook said that posts related to Iran have been enhanced through Facebook and Instagram on less than $ 100.
However, accounts born in Iran, it was not clear that they were affiliated to the Tehran government, according to Facebook, who had shared information with researchers, other technology companies and British and American governments.
