Hi Steemians,
Happy New Year to you all. We are lucky to be part of this decentralized, censorship resistent, and blockchain based social media platform. I am furious at Facebook for disabling my account permanently after blocking all communication for three days. Not that I am worried about being on Facebook but I had a lot of work to do to bring my Facebook connections (10,000+) to Steemit.

When I opened Facebook in the morning today, this is what I saw.
And same was the case with the Facebook Page Manager and Messenger apps. For three days now, I have been unable to communicate on the tyrant network in any form, not even a like. I was a member of some Steemit groups and one of them is particularly great. It's called "We Love Steemit" and I love the people there.
I reactived an old account just to carry on my Steemit mission on Facebook and to rejoin some of the Steemit communities there. That too is under scrutiny now.
Whatever the f*ck is wrong with Facebook, I am writing at a lot lot better platform right now; Steemit!
Steemit Does Not Disable Accounts
You never lose a chance to share your opinion on Steemit. You can always post and comment. No one can block you. Steemit does not block or permanently disable your account.
It does not mean that Steemit encourages illegal or unethical practices like copy pasting, identity theft or copyright violations. If you do that, you are flagged and your reputation gets hurt. Here's a detailed guide on how Steemit reputation score works if you need some guidance.
What Facebook has done is that it destroyed 4 years of my work on the platform and all the history, network, content, memories that I had built. And that too over a stupid troll video shared by thousands.
Will Steemit ever permanently remove your account? No!
Will Steemit block you from communcating on the platform? No!
Does Steemit care about copyright and your freedom of expression at the same time? Yes!
Does Facebook care? No!
Steemit vs Facebook
Facebook is on the way to becoming a trillion dollar market cap company. It is already past $500 billion.
Did it give you a single penny out of its profits?
Would Facebook be a company this big without its user base?
Has Facebook ever rewarded or even cared about you as a user?
Now think about Steemit. I do not need to explain anything. Just leave a good comment under this post to see how Steemit rewards even good interaction in comments.
No Facebook Means More Steemit
For one last time: F*ck you, Facebook! Go to hell! I do not need you and your stupid carelessness and centralization. I have Steemit and I love it here. Thank you for saving the time I could have wasted on you. Thank you for emptying my phone storage. Thank you for giving me a chance to spread Steemit on your rotten timeline.
2018 is going to be a big year for Steemit and Steem. My next post will explain why. I consider myself lucky to have been a member for more than half a year now. I will focus my attention on Steemit and make it big here. Steemit is totally worth my time, effort and energies.
Conclusion
Shift your focus on Steemit. It is smaller as compared to social media bigwigs right now and that is an opportunity. The word will soon be out and there will be a flood of people abandoning the censorship prone social media to join the decentralized Steemit.

It's bit sad but doesn't matter steemit is better platform than facebook, i already shifted my focus from facebook to steemit.
You did the right thing bro. If I had some kind of warning, I could have retrieved important things and informed my friends about the closure. What a stupid and tyrant social media platform.
When we first met with steemit, we thought the most comparable platform. And with no doubt we find it, Facebook. After a while, we feel the power of steemit and notice that it is powerful thn any other social platform such as Twitter, Instagram etc. Even if it is not only a social media platform, one day , steemit will dominate the social media frameworks, i truly believe that ! Also, steemit is just like a living organism. We feed it, it feeds us back! No doubt i agree with you @ilyastarar
I came here from WordPress and Facebook experience. I think Steemit is not a social media platform. It is more like a blogging platform. I'd say a mix of Reddit and Medium. Facebook is a far inferior, manipulative company. Steemit and Steem based SMT platforms are going to eat Facebook soon.

Steemit is the best platform to prove yourself and If you are running blog and also working in steemit, continuously working hard, then you are gaining much more popularity everyday and raising your reputation score as well but on facebook you can not get popularity and respect like steemit....

Facebook hasn't paid me even a penny since 2009. Steemit? More than $10,000 in 7 months.
Hmm, it seems like Facebook is getting scared of Steemit, as from what I understood from your post is that you joining a Steemit group on Facebook made them block your account. Or was it just due to the troll video you talked about. But if it is the former, this only shows you how much Steemit has grown, that even a big wig like Facebook is getting scared of the competition.
It was the video. I am waiting for the day Facebook will be eaten by some blockchain startup in terms of advertising business (already a few promising projects launched). Social media aspect will be eaten by Steemit and Steem based social media or SMT apps.

yeah... keep inviting... I joined steemit 20 days ago and in 20 days I have invited many people to steemit and 8 of them have joined steemit... and there a lot to come in future... and soon i will start inviting my youtube channel subscribers...

Exactly, I only use FB for work.
Steem: better! It’s an adventure. My bandwith just went down to -100% for most of the evening. I could’t do anything. Now it’s up to 80% again.
I feel we are only starting to see the many possibilities of the cryptocurrencies, that there is much more to come. I like the open-minded atmospere :-)
