Novelty in Culture Part 1: The Fear of New Ideas and Steemit

in #steemit7 years ago

In my mind visions about the future of mankind tend to play out from time to time. There are plenty of discussions going on about the possibilities of what the future could be. But there's always the chance of being confronted with doubt, if you dream too big. Our system is still based on relying mostly on rules of the past. According to the law of inertia, things that are at rest, want to stay at rest.

How ever for us visionaries, it is frustrating to stay at the same level of development for too long of a time.
We are bursting with creativity that we want to apply to a different future, but when we talk about it we are often welcomed with doubt. This can be a painful experience.

So now enter Steemit….
There appears to be a movement here, albeit still small, but growing, that is not afraid to dream about a golden future of humanity, that is being created through the help of crypto, decentralization and social virtues.

I am rather new here, and have not expected at all, to find this, what I've been unconsciously looking for, right here. On Steemit.

This platform is still young, and when we dream together we are strong. One day our dreams/realities might become big enough to pass the critical mass, and from then on it will go fast! The critical mass, is the point when enough humans believe in something, that it shifts into a “generally” accepted believe. And don't be fooled, there are not many things that are more powerful than believes. It is at the core, of what shapes our perceived realities.

To get back to my beginning point…
It can be scary to tread on the terrain of new thought, especially when it comes to creating new societal orders. There's always the possibility of extinction, when we charter the unknown.

That is probably the deepest hidden fear of human cultures, and a very real one at that (in a bigger context).
How ever, we have all the tools at hand, to heal our wounds, and start acting from a place of integrity and love.
Being a visionary and on a journey of self healing go hand in hand. We, who have invested time and energy in cleaning our wounds and healing our traumas, cannot relate any more to the current system, that is being run in the media, the schools, and the heads of most people. It seems absurd. We instinctively know, that the place from where the system was born, is not a place of love, but a place of fear.

And the great thing is… on a place like steemit, we have the chance to create what ever reality we want for this community!

So all that is left to say is…

Dream On my dear Steemers!

Love your work innerspace, and I resonate with what your saying. From my perspective I am not willing to accept any other reality than the brave new one we are venturing into, in all it's uncertainty there is the possibility for great things. I believe, and will add my belief power to yours and whoever else wants to come along.

Thanks philly, much appreciated!

This is very well said @innerspace. I see it here too...the potential for a new order and a new way of living.

That’s been really pleasant surprise for me. I’ve long been a part of the dreamy hippy yoga community longing for a freer world. Then I’m life partnered to a man who is a futurist, tech lover and early crypto advocate. I couldn’t see it at first, but they are 2 paths to the same end! Decentralization. Freedom. Self governance. Self responsibility. Fair rewards. - Liberation.

It’s a really exciting time to be alive and I’m eager to see how this plays out more and more in the near future.

Ps. I wish you posted more. You’re a very good blogger that I enjoy reading. 👌🏼

Thanks @steemed-open appreciate it. I would, but Im limited to inspirational in-flow. I cannot create these posts out of thin air hehe. Either I get the wave of nourishing inspiration, or Im sitting on dry sand. I will try though to create a way of living where I get more in touch with that creative force and also input.

I totally get that. I’m an “in the flow” writer too, but I see inspiration all the time in the mundane so I write daily (don’t share all of it).

Writing on a schedule, aka creativity on demand, is doable I understand. My sister-in-law is a very successful gay romance author (I’m super proud of her and she’s here as @leta-blake ) and just sits down certain days, seems to say “go” and she says the charachters then come through her and tell the story. It’s amazing! One day maybe for us it can be that way.

I’ll wait patiently for your next inspired piece. :)
