RE: What Would You Like To Change In Steemit?

I agree about the tags issue. I try to set at least 3 of my tags relative to the content of my posts, but...

The tags should be under bigger topics. I believe Steempeak does that. So that you don't have all the tags at the same list if you especially don't want them to be. Topics could be like: countries, contests, finance, apps... and put there solely by the tags used. That would be clear and simple for the user.

I don't think the 7 day payout is a big issue, because, let's face it. After the first day or two, it's extremely rare to get a vote anyway.
...
The problem is the curation thing. If people know that voting in the first minutes is rewarded... while voting after that, isn't... most votes will happen on those first minutes.

But if the 7 day payout period would be longer and curating would be different, would we then get more quality posts with less quantity and less short posts?

Votes after 2 or 3 days are as important to the poster as they are in the first 2 or 3 minutes. And voters should get similar incentives to vote after 15 minutes, 2 days or 5 days. No?

I agree.

How Steemit works in posts and curating, makes most people behave like they do, post more, often, short, anything. Curate 15 minutes to 2 hours, usually not after that.

So the way people are doing things here in Steemit is because Steemit encourages to do that. Because it's most profitable and allowed.

Maybe there should be two different tag fields, one for tags and other for topics. That would be cool.

Well, Steem sets the rules and we simply play along with them. Let's hope the rules keep changing and they find a way to overcome these issues. I'd really like to see people having the same incentive to vote in the first 15 minutes or after 3 days.

Then, we'd all simply vote for the stuff we like, whenever we like.

In my understanding the first tag is like the topic and the next ones just tags. But the two different tag fields would definitely be better.
