This was a weird and hard read for me. You're against resteem services, but then you offered a resteem services. But at least you explained it. :)
Ironic, but truthful post.
I liked it.
Now please re-steem my post
...to which you'd probably say:
Umm @intelliguy did you not hear me when I said:
Resteem services will hurt your reputation"
Yes, I did. But you did say:
If the user have a decent amount of rewards on their own articles, the Resteem might be a good thing.
So am I resteemable ?? :)
Just to clarify. I'm obviously not talking about Resteems in general. I'm talking about Resteem Services. A service being offered from a user who sell Resteems for SBD or STEEM.
Resteems is a fantastic thing and I love the way you can share other people's content with a click of a button, but I am against most Resteem Services as most of them are true bogus and nothing but a money-making-machine for the owners. Like my example shows you, the user of such Resteem Service will get nothing or at least very little in return for the cost of the service. - And that's why I am against these services.
When I came up with my own Resteem service, I came to the conclusion that my followers are worth more than many other Resteem Services providers, because I have never done follow for follow or other stupid things like that. I've built my following during a long, long way. Manually. And my followers have followed me based on their own actions and due to their own will. - My followers are quality compared to other Resteem Service providers followers, which are quantity. - Also, I offered this for a very limited time, when I faced a true shitstorm, so it was literally the only thing I could come up with, so I still offered something for the money I was asking for.
Resteeming an article will not hurt your reputation at all. However, using Resteem Services, where you pay money to someone to Resteem your article might hurt your reputation. - I wouldn't like to do business with someone like the user in my example for instance. Based on this persons behaviour and reputation. - If I bought Resteems from him, I'd literally feed him money and also encourage him to continue his journey... - And that could potentially hurt my reputation in the long run.
Right. Thank you for taking the time to clarify. I have noticed these resteem services showing up all over the place. These are people from twitter who offer to tweet your words to 5,000 followers. They've now arrived on steem to do the same thing here.
The problem is that it's rarely effective. If I was on a resteem feed and it was pushing material I didn't like, I'd end up just unfollowing. A lot of other people won't go through that trouble, they would just bypass all the posts and never upvote. So resteem services is basically stupid. :)
I hear you and I agree with you. My attempt was out of desperation, but I also figured it would be worth more for the people who used my Resteem service compared to many others, just out of the quality of the followers. - However, I also offered this during a very limited time and I was honest about my intentions from day 1. - My readers knew the reasons for this service to appear and they knew it was for a limited time alone.
That said, I truly believe these type of services are pretty much worthless and that's also why I felt like "warning" or at least clarifying my thoughts about these services.
