It's easy to feel sorrow as you see your favorite coin prices falling. But you have to look at the real picture.
It SEEMS like coin prices are falling on coinmarketcap.com
It appears many of us are too complacent with outrageous rises in prices in cryptocurrency as if that is the new normal.
It's time to stop the dopamine overdose running through our brains and get a sense of the real picture.
When you look at coinmarketcap.com I want you to think of this......
READY?
Keep in mind, out of all these coins, STEEM is special, because the hard fork on July 4th, 2016, saw $1,300,000 of STEEM and Steem Dollars paid out to Steemit users for the first time.
Steem is still in BETA and doing very well. User adoption is extremely high. Higher than expected!
Steem is a buy opportunity. I can almost guarantee you there is no way in hell we're going to be worth $1.00 July 15, 2018.
It's time to celebrate what the last year has brought us for coin values, and the buy opportunity for STEEM that is very visible right now.
I don't know where other coins might be going to be in a year (especially with EOS on the horizon). It seems obvious to me that STEEM is ready for some serious growth and the value of the chain and platform is probably going to go crazy too.
This is why I am power up mode. Sell at $1/steem? No thank you :)
What do you think? Considering Bitcoin was only worth $663.84 a year ago. How can we complain when it's above $2,000 now?
..........
Hey!
Did you scroll down too fast? I'd like you to STARE AT THIS SUMMARY AGAIN....
Interesting perspective, however I am assuming that the price for Steem a year ago was at its launch when it was heavily over valued. Just look at the Z-cash fall from over $12k a coin at launch to approx. $160 a coin now:
https://www.worldcoinindex.com/coin/zcash
I agree Steem will recover but its just when. With the pending bitcoin scaling issues, I think we are in for a bumpy ride over the next few weeks/ months across all cryptos. If that is resolved swiftly, we are posised to recover and I agree that Steem (as a crypto with a solid use case) should shott up!
You are right.. Steem a year ago at its launch was heavily overvalued. Correct. Thats why it was $3.69
Today, we've earned that value, based on the software development, the user retention, user engagement, and the number of constant new users we're getting.
So what does that mean now? We're outperforming, and undervalued, and we're at $1.00
Steem is an incredible buy right now, and we'll see that with the coming year.
Nice post! I think people need to remember to ZOOM OUT when looking at crypto charts; especially right now. Looking at a 24 hour, or even a week chart is depressing as hell at the moment. However, look at it at a 6 month basis and it's a lot more cheery.
I love the idea of buying more Steem, I think once the whole market turns bullish again Steem could shoot up, the only reason I'm hesitant on buying more is that I think faster growth could be achieved elsewhere.
I post articles discussing crypto and my investment analysis. I love your positive vibe my friend, if you ever wanna talk crypto, hit me up @jhcooper7
Steem on!
Definitely agree!
Zooming out (instead of looking over the last month) has a very good realism to the perspective of things. :)
Definitely, it's far too easy to look at the trend over the last few weeks and think 'oh no, I'm doing 30-40%'. Not enough people look over a longer period and think 'Christ, I'm still up 300%!'.
If you don't mind me asking, is Steem the largest part of your portfolio currently?
My portfolio (as small as it is unfortunately as compared to most people which I am working on)... is spread out in such a way, that the projects and coins I believe in are spread in such a fashion that if any of them do well, I will benefit fairly well.
I'm conservative in my investments because I can't afford not to be..
Steem is one of the larger ones... and its where I devote my time and energy the most, because I believe it has a very secure future.
I agree but with btc expecting to drop more, I will wait till it's closer to the bip148 and hope btc drops, the buy extra btc for steem.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this subject. Cheers !!!
This is very interesting to me because I dont know anything about currencies I just write and enjoy steemit to me it is something that has changed my llife, as I am a pensioner and not able to work anymore. Steemit has given everyong a chance to be doing something untill they die.
This is very true! My parents are about to retire and I've been telling them for years about the vast opportunities to earn extra revenue on the internet. Up until now they've always nodded sarcastically, not really taking me seriously.
Recently, they asked me how my writing is going, I told them I'd happened to make almost $800 in a few months and suddenly I had their sincere attention!
Steemit is great. If you're interested in photography Belacam is a great little project, very similar to Steemit but focuses on photos instead of writing. Currently you don't earn much, but over a few years the earnings could be huge! There's a hard limit on the supply of around 55 million, so if the project is successful the earnings will grow rapidly.
I'm with you, Just imagine 100Billion$ added to crypto in less than 1 year. Fun but ridiculous really. Unless something earth shattering happens, people will continue to get involved.
It's a supply and demand market. You can't tell me crypto users are even worth in total assets outside of crypto anywhere near 100 Billion.
Makes me wonder how much Cash exists in the whole world?
Cheers
Time to buy and buy
Great article. Agree 100%, buy, hold, wait... repeat. It's pretty clear to me the long play will be the most rewarding, so zoom out your trading charts and breath. :) Been deliberating on more STEEM, this was what I needed to pull the trigger, thanks!
