Saying that we believe in prayer is not the same as praying. James wrote: "... you do not receive, because you ask evil ..." (James 4: 3). We must take time to tell God what we want and need.
Sometimes, we turn to certain situations in the mind, or we talk about them with our friends, or we want them, or we wait for them, but we do not pray. Thinking, talking with others, wanting or hoping is not the same as praying. Only to pray is to pray! When we have a need or there is a situation that worries us, we only pray if we talk to God about it.
The Lord is waiting for us to ask for things in prayer, and he never tires of us coming to him, because he is capable, he is willing and willing to act on our behalf, but we have to do it. Jesus said: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Because everyone who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened to him "(Matthew 7: 7-8).
