Hello steemit community! 4 DAYS to go before we take part this life changing activity that's been supported by the steemit community. In behalf of the @steemph.cebu as early as now we extend our gratitude to those people who have supported and been supporting for the success of this event.
WHAT IS WORLD FOOD DAY?
An annual event celebrated to acknowledge and give importance to the creation of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and is a significant date in the world's fight against global hunger. Ever since, people also use this memorable day to give thought to the world issues such as injustices, basic human rights, critical matter of chronic hunger and promote and promote solutions to certain issues caused by our broken food system
Here in the province of Cebu, Philippines we will participate in the said historical event (WORLD FOOD DAY 2017) by feeding 150 children or more this coming October 15, 2017 in coordination with DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE DEVELOPMENT in the community but we are still waiting for their final response but rain or shine , with DSWD or not we are very confident that this event will be successful because we have the loving steemit community. We are just grateful to be part of this wonderful steemit family and of course the behind it for we have the same vision and goals for the betterment of each and everyone. Uplifting each spirit and giving hope to those who are hopeless.
This act maybe simple but may have great impact to those people who don't find enough to eat on their day to day living. Surveys and studies show that it is a person dies of hunger or hunger-related causes every minute. Sadly, it is children who are greatly affected.
We have created an event by the use of social media and we are just very glad that each day we are getting volunteers from different walks of life who are willing to help for this coming event. It's undeniable that social media is now becoming a great tool to connect people's lives and hearts from different parts of world. Like here in steemit alone, we are greating so much support. We are just so blessed to have this community.
We will also give 150 pairs of slippers to the children. We have gotten these slippers from our previous volunteer events donated by a doctor who lives abroad. These are not 150 pairs yet but we are going to buy to complete the number.
Mark the date on October 15, 2017 at 10am to 12 noon.
