I did about the same research 6 days ago - but I used a different source. When you check Similarweb, most of the stats are about the same: 12 million visitors, 55% organic search.
But the bounce rate mentioned on Similarweb was just under 70%, which is quite high, and the average time spent on the site was about 3 minutes, which is very low for a platform with a truckload of content. I think a simple 'related posts' widget could definitely change that last number.
What I think is really funny, is the big difference in main keywords that brought people to SteemIt. I can perfectly live with the ones you found, but the ones I found on Similarweb actually gave me the creeps:
A puzzle game, an illegal Torrent download and camwhores???
IMO, those top 5 organic search keywords didn't put SteemIt in a good position.
Fortunately, when I checked just now, the camwhores seemed to have lost their popularity. This is the cureent top 5:
- steemit
- tor
- the favourite torrent
- the rising of the shield hero episode 2 0.
- steemit.com/@knowkrish
Still not really what i wuld want to see there, but at least the camwhores are gone, lol.
I alos checked busy.org and steempeak.com, and what struck me was that the bounce rate for these sites was a lot lower. The only explanation I could think of was that most of their visitors arrive via SteemIt...
Did you check the stats on those?
