I would say that is important but not by much , what counts is if your post can get views, votes and resteems during the first few hours so it stays and doesnt go in the sinkhole of past posts, that said, I also remember that a post is the most jucy to vote for a hour or two after it's published, if you vote for it when it's full with prizes you won't get much , still people with "Power" get returns without much cares, since a fraction of a million is something , but getting that as a return from my 15 steem is impossible, if I don't catch a post at the first hour and upvote it , get it to go at the ~150$ SBD so I can get the 0.05 reward :D , so good luck curating, I'm not even a minnow because I didn't start piling up the steem when I registered. :D
