Was just thinking about this the other day but it might be kind of cool to add some sort of "tip" feature on steemit. Next to the upvote or something you have a little "tip" arrow. Then when you slide a little bar from 0 to $100 (not percent) and you pay the content creator directly from your "steem wallet" rather then having it be "mined" off the chain. Good way to get our daily transaction up and it also takes gluttony out of the space. Also, by doing so, it rewards people for their content without adding more steem in circulation. Just a small suggestion I could see it having many "flaws" in it but thought id run the idea by the community. If people can make money even when the price is low it will actually keep the price of steem up! 
Lastly we should think about adding an "items for sale" topic then people can buy items with steem then have it mailed to their homes! This would be a "light web" rather then the "dark web" steemit could be like facebook + amazon!!! People are more likely to buy tokens if they can purchase a tangible item rather then just speculation. Let me know your thoughts!
“Items for sale” is very good idea, because that would stimulate use of Steem, and probably lead to increased transactions and better redistribution, which is all positive.
As for the “tip”, you can do it already, without any added buttons or arrows :)
True :D the tip feature isnt really needed to do on your own but you might be more likely to if it was in front of you... but yea people need to start selling goods on steemit! it would be a perfect place for it. You would be able to sell items fast and easy great for advertising a business...Good economics all around!!

Silk Road was just a market place. Anyone could just as well misuse town market anywhere.
No difference with bitcoin and steem all the transaction are transparent so no one could get away with selling dangerous items
I think it's a good idea! I sell my artworks all over the world thanks some platform that work for this (using fiat, of course). I'll love to sell some of my craft/artworks using cryptocurriences and I'm thinking to write a post about this opportunity ;)
Awesome! Please do! currency is used for buying items not so much speculation. If we can add more utility to "steem" it could very well help its value.
