Did not take long for my vision to materialize: 1 day!
Truth be told, there have been many pointers out there:
- Increased Alexa Rank.
- Celebrities joining (Neil Strauss, David Pakman etc.).
- Superstrong SBD, which was perhaps kind of a future in this regard.
2018 started with a bang:
Steem is actually traded up to 51000 Satoshis ($6,86) on HitBTC:

On Bittrex, which has most of the volume, Steem is stable above $5:

Just one little advice for all of us that want Steem to go even higher:
When you have earned you precious SBD, and you want to power up,
transfer the SBD to Bittrex, buy Steem there and transfer back as Steem Power to you Steemit wallet. In that manner we create more demand for Steem and higher trading volume, which will strengthen the interest in Steem as an investment.

Man..great advice transferring Steem to Bittrex ..or HitBTC (or the exchange that has the highest arbitrage at any given moment) to get more trading volume/interest as well.

arbitrage, I remember reading about this concept a lot in accounting theory, It is crazy to actually see it in play in a real life situation.
And this is just the beginning. WIth tokens, communities etc etc, we are gonna see some really big numbers by the end of 2018. To the moon!

We were just talking about Steem reaching 10$ by the end of 2018. And it's already 5-6$ two days in. Good times.
We could not have asked for a better start for Steem! And what a great tip for increasing the trading volume; I have just been using the internal market to move SBD to Steem so far, but I'll definitely check out this method if it gives me the same rate on the trade.
Let's hope it just continues on. Against BTC, Steem was up to $90 in June 2016. Steem is much bigger now, so there should be plenty of room for growth.
Yeah, I hope so as well. The summer of 2016 was a very strange time for Steem and Steemit. It was worth around $4 per token if I remember correctly, but there was so few people on the platform that some posts had $10,000+ in author rewards. And after a while the price crashed to something like $0.1. I really hope the growth continues, but looking back at that, I think I'll be happy with just having some stability for a while as well :)
It's a superb start to the year 2018 for steem and this time steem is the leader in altcoin segment.

Many good news for Steem in just the first day of the year. 2018 will definitely be the year that Steem & Steemit take off.
SBD peg to $1, this is what I heard, so we got a bonus and we enjoyed it by current price up! Anyway when it drops, it will little hurt, but with a clear mind I know it will happen anytime, so I was collect SBD, covert them to STEEM or other and prepare for the future!
Anyway I have faith on SMT, sometimes we will get another bonus again...

I would still say it is undervalued and as long as the price is below 10, it would be considered undervalued.
