I remember when I was young, things were a bit hard in my family. It seemed the whole world was crumbling on us. My dad tried all his possible best to ensure my younger ones and I fill our stomachs at all cost.
Most times, he traveled far to fetch for his family, leaving us behind. Then, I was so little that all I just wanted was to eat and enjoy life, not knowing what it takes to survive. Each time he returned, he would come with all kinds of goodies for us all.
While I was growing, each time I made a mistake or did something wrong, he would call me aside, beat me, and later counsel me. That is what I call 'father's love'. A father's love for his family is usually strong.

There are lots of youth and people out there who value or appreciate their mother more than their father who also took care of them while they were young; advised them whenever the need arise; paid their medical bills when he needed to, and did several other things.
But as they grow, whenever their father scold them for doing what is wrong, they run to their mother who pampers them. Hence, they see her as their saviour.

I don't blame people who praise their mothers more because they see mothers as their saviouro whenever they have any issue with their father. That justifies why we celebrate them (Mothers) more in our society.
Whereas we tend to forget that no matter how cruel a father could be, his love for his kids, family, and people around him cannot be overemphasized. We must learn to appreciate and celebrate fathers because it is their effort, coupled with that of the mothers that brought about our existence.
We should also know that a "true" father does not mind going an extra-mile to fetch for his family. He sees this as his responsibility.

No matter what, NEVER DENY THE LOVE OF A FATHER. As they say "Blood is thicker than Water".
Lets learn to appreciate our fathers. Take pictures with them and post these pictures the same way you always do with mothers.
This piece is meant to sensitize youths to always show love and appreciate fathers out there.
