I've finally reached 2000 followers.

Well it looks like I finally reached the 2000 follower mark.

Honestly, I don't even know if having followers matters anymore because it doesn't seem to increase your payout at all.

I guess it really only matters if you have huge whale followers but they aren't really swimming around much anymore, and if they are they aren't really upvoting many people unless you're on some kind of curation trail or if you've been noticed by some kind of project.

That's to be expected though these days.

I don't mind that much.

I know everybody's really guarded about their SP these days and we also know from looking at different charts that the majority of the people on this site are plankton and redfish. I think if you're a minnow with 500 SP then you're in the top 1% or something like that.

We also know that there's something like 1,000 dolphins and maybe 35 whales if I remember correctly.

So what does having 2000 followers mean?

Well it definitely means you get a lot of spam.

People call me sir. I hate that so much.

I agree sir. <----- this is spam.

On the other hand, it does mean that I get the occasional new actual follower that reads my posts.

I'm really hoping that with the addition of Hivemind and Hard Fork 20 having more followers will actually make a bit of a difference.

Still, at this point I can say that after having been here for something like 18 months it feels good to finally reach the 2000 follower mark.

Thank you for being a follower and reading my posts.

Congrats, man! Most of my followers are bots. I actually got just over 100 new followers recently within a minute after posting. Social media is ruled by bots. We might as well embrace it.

There are definitely quite a few bots out there as well.

Congratulations ...
Nice experience on steemit...@jeezzle

Thank you.

congratulations I still have few hope someday be like you

Thanks.

Congrats.

2000 followers sounds like a mighty achievement, and may indeed mean more in the future, though I do hope you realize it's amazing to have yours words pop up in 2000 feeds. I mean, that's a LOT of people.

So well done. :)

I think it was a bigger achievement like a year ago. It will probably mean something great in about 6 months though. I really do think we will see a general rise in the market by then and we will have more people that are coming by reading and posting.

This seems like a good time to review the good old days back when you were just starting out. I seem to remember you doing a lot of posts reviewing different kinds of junk food.

It's true. I used to enjoy reviewing things like different varieties of unusual chips and even certain unusual restaurants that I would visit.

Well, congratulations on reaching the milestone anxway!

I usually get 1-4 new followers a day, so checking out what they are all about is still feasible. And usually, they are people sitting at rep rank 25, never posted a thing but have a bunch of resteems. My thought on the matter is that they are probably just some part of any kind of curation trail or resteem service.

That makes the number of actual followers much smaller for me too, but I manage and so will you.

I think @conradt managed to reach the 1000 follower milestone and when I asked him what his next aim is, he replied "Having 1000 humans following me."

And I can relate with that.

It's definitely harder to find human followers. I would settle for robot followers that are sentient beings with fat wallets though.

Oh, yeah, I wouldn't mind that being a thing too. Give me all the Ultrons and Skynets

Well done mate ... umm .. I mean Sir

I prefer to be called "Old Bean."

Congratulations, it's a success brother, once again congratulations.

That is true. It is a success.
