For fun, a few lines of poetry just might lead to an engagement because - Steemit posts are there forever! Yes you or the significant other can look back at all the love poems you wrote. You can even post your love back and forth in the comments. Who knows if the posts become good enough, they might pay for your wedding, reception, and honeymoon.

Poetry for the Purpose Memorable Events is Fun!
Maybe you have survived horrible events. Maybe you have survived wars or natural disasters, like marriage. Whatever history you might want to turn into a poem it really is fun.
Was the event uplifting? Was the event not worth surviving - sometimes a great cathartic expression of poetry can save you thousands on psychiatric therapy and give you the will to live because on Steemit you get paid and that is fun.

Why, there are plenty of poets on Steemit and if you write poetry, there is no doubt other poets will read it and perhaps be inspired and upvote.
Yes, you can write poems about anything and in any style. If your poems are of the caliber of 'There once was a man from Nantucket', don't forget to use the NSFW tag. All lower case please!
