RE: Introducing @SteemAds - Make Money after the 7th day! Get in on this NOW !!

in #steemit7 years ago

I'm brand new to Steemit, so excuse the newbie question...this implies that Steemit articles older than 1 week no longer get any exposure??

I realize that newer posts get the most views, but still, if a post was exceptionally written/ well received, I assumed it would have lasting power just like any other blog post or online article (like those posted on medium.com). Is that not true?

Sort:

It is sometimes true that old posts come up in searches, and via links, but you don't get paid after the 6th day for votes so they tend to die out. Some estimate post life here in minutes even, not in days, because of the sheer amount of content pushing them rapidly down the feed. If it's not seen and resteemed a lot in the first few moments, your post is as good as dead Captain. So this is a way for a handful of viewers who either come to your blog and read back deep into it or random searches that turn it up, to add some value to it via continued monetization. I just read this post and know nothing much about the poster or the advertising idea, but I do know what I just said about posts is true.

ah ok, good to know thanks!

Happy to help!

Thank you for the helpful comment Sir.

My Pleasure

It can't make any money after the 7 day payout window is closed, so people can still find your post but it doesn't get the same amount of exposure as new posts which are offering curation rewards for voting early.

ditto above :)
