when asking my own questions and stating that the level of abuse represents a serious flaw in the system, i was told in no uncertain terms ''it is not a flaw''. I can see good reason for not wanting a higher authority than the community to be able to stop certain kinds of behavior.
It is my opinion that it will be better in the long run if we form networks of mutual support for dealing with those who would appoint themselves the dictators of acceptable behavior on the platform.
Its time we all grew up and found more more harmonious ways of balancing things out.Hey @tarquinmaine brilliant post.

Couldn't agree more. I thought the mute button was just to stop people you follow appearing in your feed? I've never used it so not sure.
