How many times have you heard the word ‘Utopia’ before? Probably not too often from a politician, that’s for sure, unless that person is using populism as a way of getting power (nothing new for most of them). But besides that, no head of any state of the world likes to use that word too much because they know just by definition that a perfect society is something that cannot be achieved just because the human factor, an imperfect one, is what drives a society. Their model is one upon which each individual must take care for themselves and maybe for their closest ones. But there will inevitably be some conflict at some point with others; take it as for differences between countries or neighbors. Again, that’s human nature. We are not always rewarded by helping others. Although many people encourage it, others just don’t care much.
So, what does this have anything to do with Steemit? Well, let’s start by quoting Sir Thomas More, an English philosopher, author of the book Utopia (1516), who states:
“Kindness and good nature unite men more effectually and with greater strength than any agreements whatsoever, since thereby the engagements of men's hearts become stronger than the bond and obligation of words.”
I am new to the Steemit community, and let me tell all of you something, from the very first time, I noticed this is more than a place to make money/ connect with people/ write blogs. We are up to a new concept for a society model. Never have I seen a place where education, writing skills and most importantly, helping others is rewarded the way Steemit does. You are rewarded (most of the times) when you write quality content and so are you when you like others’ content. It’s a win-win environment which, although I wouldn’t dare call a Utopia for humanity is involved, can be the basis for a whole new model societies can be based upon.
Just imagine a world where you feel encouraged to help someone and you would be rewarded for such a thing. Well guys, you already are a part of it. Welcome to Steemit.
Excellent post! You are welcome!
Thats right men, this platform gives us a lot of opportunities, and it lets us grow up as people, as community.
