Hi @timbalabuch! I think you should be careful and talk with the people first before shooting out in this way. From my point of view he is not receiving the money for the video directly but for the post he wrote and the work he did (also using a template you need to work a bit, sometimes more than a bit) and he is not re-selling the template not asking for money because of the video. And about the license you are wrong. If he bought the template he can use it for...
"Use in a free end product
(more than one end user allowed)"
As says in the Regular License here. https://videohive.net/licenses/standard?license=regular
Im also in the Videohive platform and I sell and buy templates there. And I did the same like him with the Steemit logo because I gave it for free. I buy templates from time to time, download every month the free template they give away and have them in the machine without using them because maybe I will need them one day. Why not use it for Steemit?
My 1st post giving the final products for free, no the template or asking for money. They are also some of the work that I sell in Videohive but with the Steemit logo.
https://steemit.com/steemit/@juanmiguelsalas/animations-with-the-steemit-logo-for-your-videos-free-download
Of course, not the same for the works Im doing for steemgigs. If I use a template I normally pay it, like in my work for VOTU Podcast. They want a logo intro and was more easy to buy the templates again, they were also cheap, and the people from VOTU also needed this fast. But the others were all original work, not templates. My comment was just to be clear with you because you say
There are a lot of people doing this here ...
And I did it but not in the way you are saying in your post.
Good luck in Steemit.
Pd: sorry, my English is not the best
Hi Juan, thank you for your point of view. It makes a lot of sense and if I'm wrong, I'll update the post.
But there are some things that are not yet clear. For example, the Free End product of these animations would be used to open a video, some advertisement, things like that. Available for download for use in other videos, is this the Free End Product being used as a template?
Sincere question, so that I can update the post if necessary. And if you're right, would you authorize me to use your answer in the post?
Hi @timbalabuch! thanks for your answer, you do not need to change your post, my point was more to use another words or to ask the person first before writing anything. They are many ways you could do that.
About what you say "Free product" meaning and so on... The end product is not a template, maybe you could call it a stock video but you do not have this stock video with the Steemit logo in any market online so.... If he were selling the After Effects template would be something complete different and you were right. Hope this clear your question.
If I'm wrong, I need to do an update on the post.
I got in touch with Envato for an answer.
I dont want to be asshole haha. But I'm selling my work on GraphicRiver and CreativeMarket, so it's a matter of importance to me.
Again, thank you for your point of view.
And about Envato... Me and a friend discover a web who was selling all the templates from Envato and the answer from they was that they could not do anything... They are getting money anyway so... good luck with them. I think you need to relax a bit.
Hahahaha bro, I'm not getting in touch so they can do something. I just want to know the rules 😉
If you think this is to far, probably you don't sell your work online
Yes I do sell, 3rd time I tell you https://videohive.net/user/juanmi/portfolio I do not upload since a long time because I have enough work in "real life". The rules are here very explicit https://videohive.net/licenses/standard?license=regular
Im also selling there as I told you before but in Videohive, nothing to do with your niche. As I told you before (again) he is not getting money directly for the video and he is not selling the template. Im pretty sure the people who will use the video are from Steemit and will use it for not comercial purpose. And I think you are going pretty far asking to ...Envato??? (OMG!)... but it is up to you. Have a nice day.
