WELCOME TO STEEMIT!!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

This is exciting. Yesterday, while doing a LIVE broadcast for the channel, the topic of Steemit came up. Well, we dove in. There were about 95 people tuned in to the LIVE, and many of YOU/THEM are now here! Some viewers already had Steemit accounts and we were then able to link up and find each other!

Let's recap on some key points that I feel make Steemit work for all of us:

1.) It makes a good outlet for our passion! As I told people in the stream - pick THREE (3) topics you are passionate about; photography, art, architecture, travel, coins, precious metals, crypto, economics, politics, adventure, mechanical work, heck plumbing!! Just write! Post, blog, express, educate, share. Perhaps use it as a journal entry!?

2.) Engaging with others and making connections. I tend to be shy from lurking around and making connections, however once I do connect with others on here, it is fun to engage and begin to network and share with one another. We all learn from each other on here.

3.) You earn SBD (Steem Dollars). This "crypto" is earned by your participation and input into the platform. Your content and its quality, will earn you this coin that yo can then send to Bittrex or other exchanges and either sell for BTC, in order to acquire other cryptos or leave as SBD or BTC, whatever you decide. The best part, is you are earning a little bit of savings for doing something you hopefully enjoy. Think of it as a "savings" plan.

I found out about Steemit a while back from subscribers who pleaded with me to sign up on here. I am happy I did. It takes some getting used to, and there is a lot of technical jargon I still don't quite get.

Steemit was good for me, as it helped break down some barriers to crypto that I had erected with prejudice. Through Steemit, I was encouraged to sign up for Bittrex, in order to be able to ever "get" my Steem Dollars or convert them into anything. By learning how to do this from A STEEMIT ARTICLE, I made monumental leaps in my understanding and comprehension of buying, selling, sending, receiving, cryptocurrencies.

You could say that in a way, Steemit was the door that brought me into the Crypto house. Prior I was just lurking in the yard, throwing stones.

Still learning, still working through it all, I am here and I am glad to see some familiar faces (or should I say names) stopping by and also becoming part of the community here. WELCOME.

Thank you for supporting the Junius Maltby Channel!

It took me a little time, but here I am. Let's try this! Steemit will be my fist toe in the pool of cryptos and maybe it will force me to understand them more and get me more involved with them.
All thanks to the most boring channel on Youtube.

MY MAN!! Ricois in the house!! Yes! Good to see an ol friend on here! Hit it man! Do this and try it out. Earn some SBD, pour your heart out and earn.

Yes! I have a lot to learn, but I need to do this. I missed the boat on bitcoin. So far I'm missing the boat on ripple... I need to understand how all of this works. And Steemit might be a good motivation like it was for you.

Once again great stuff. Loved the video with the Steemit talk. Talking about those things that you enjoy...This is why we started The Cryptocurrency Challenges, The Football Challenges, and The Gold & Silver Challenges.
Find these to be a great way and fun way for us to track the price of each and gain SBD while doing so.

Thanks

excellent! I hope to win a crypto challenge.

Just keep playing, you should win one eventually.

happy to have you on the steemsilvergold tag Junius. Great youtube channel. Cheers

May the 47 be with you!

Thank you! Now you're in the house partying it up and I am in the backyard kicking rocks around wondering if I am ever going to understand all this jargon! LOL! But a writing outlet for things I enjoy is right up my alley!!
