Late Friday night, August 25th, 2017, Hurricane Harvey, a Category 4 storm, made landfall between Port Aransas and Port O'Connor, Texas. It was downgraded to a Category 1 by Saturday morning. Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of emergency. President Donald Trump approved a major disaster declaration as well as making federal assistance available immediately. The entire area of Houston, Texas as well as the surrounding areas, are seeing unprecedented flooding. It is not over yet either. More rain is expected to hit the area this week and forecasters are saying they could receive anywhere from 50 to 60 inches of rain in total from all of the storms!!! 🌧 😱 Some places even saw tornadoes form and touch down. 🌪 Coastal cities and its residents are in grave danger. Houston is the 4th largest city in the United States and is home to over 6.5 million people! For those who are watching this horrible disaster unfold, are unsure how they can help but would like to do something, please see the organizations below. Every little bit counts!!! AirBnB is asking for housing accommodation donations. All service fees are waived for those affected by the disaster and checking in between August 23, 2017 and September 01, 2017.
Most local food banks in the gulf area are closed due to flooding. However, Feeding Texas, a member of feed America, is an organization that is accepting donations and stepping up to help feed those who in Texas who are hungry and affected by the storms.

OMG I don't watch TV so I was not aware of this sad news I will post this and let my family in the US know so that we can make donations and help the victims of hurricane Harvey.
