I hope you are well & good. I agree with you that the reward system should be flexible enough to support the participants who made effort to bring something new & different, trying to win the contest. Win & Loss is the part of the game, so you don't need to lose heart on loss, as you may have gotten some good votes on your entries. Maybe some new followers & a chance to improve your blog for the next coming event. Trying Being Positive is the best thing.
On the other hand, It was @crypto.hype first contest. He will learn from the experience and will try to bring something more which will satisfy most of the participants. if more people will sponsor the contest, there will be more rewards and all is better.
