RE: UPDATED Steemit FAQ - Section: "Voting"

in #steemit7 years ago

Ok, a few questions.

  1. Is the vote slider a thing of the past? I just joined yesterday and I have not seen it, just a straight upvote button.

  2. The idea that curation money is split 90/10 after 3 mins vs 50/50 after 15... is that also a changed percentage? I read somewhere it was always 75/25

  3. It seems like all of the 'rules' create a community of artificial actions ie, waiting certain amounts of time to upvote or comment, people asking for upvotes in a popular article. Doesn't this really ruin the idea of a fluid exchange of ideas?

Sort:
  1. You'll see the slider when you reach about 500 Steem Power. Until then, you'll be voting at 100% power every time.
  2. The 75/25 thing you read about is wrong. Authors will get at least 75% of their post reward, but usually more. The max rewards curators can earn is 25% of the post's rewards.
  3. They aren't perfect and they're still a work in progress, but every one of these "rules" was put there for a reason - usually to combat ways that people and bots were/could manipulate the system.
