The second leg match of the Champions League quarter-finals 2017-18 bring AS Roma against Barcelona. The match was held at the Stadio Olimpicop Roma on Wednesday (11/04).
Superior 4-1 aggregate seems to make Barcelona off guard. Spartan Rome is able to prove that everything can happen in football. Roma can reverse the situation and achieve a 3-0 victory to get rid of Barca. Roma goals scored by Edin Dzeko, Daniele De Rossi, and Kostas Manolas.
AS Roma proved themselves that they have not surrendered despite being left aggregate far enough. Roma immediately appear attacking from the beginning and able to open the scoring when the game has been running for six minutes.
Daniele De Rossi saw Edin Dzeko's movement on the right side. De Rossi then send a gastric bait. Dzeko got away from Jordi Alba and Samuel Umtiti and then scored the opening goal, beating Ter Stegen.
Roma are getting excited by the quick goals they created it. In contrast, Barça are like playing without the spirit and the organization of their game is also very bad than usual.
Roma were able to create many chances throughout the first half but were unable to capitalize on them into goals. The first half closed with the score 1-0, aggregate 2-4 still for Barca advantage.
Entering the second half, Roma increasingly craze with their attacks. Barca made hassles and unusual, they can not show a good response. Barca like let Roma develop the game.
The situation finally brought bad impact for the visitors. Gerard Pique grabbed Edin Dzeko's hand until it fell into the forbidden box. The referee did not hesitate to point to the white point and yellow card for Pique. The penalty was completed perfectly by De Rossi and changed the score to 2-0, aggregate 3-4.
Disaster for Barca created in the 83rd minute. Starting from a corner kick, Cengiz Under ball could be placed smartly by Kostas Manolas to the far post. Manolas managed to fool Semedo in charge of escorting him. Score 3-0, aggregate 4-4
Until the fight was over, this score remained. Thus, AS Roma are entitled to qualify for the Champions League semi-final with a 4-4 aggregate, but excel in the aggressiveness of away goals.
