London Royal Court of Justice

in #steemit7 years ago

Today is a special day because I was lucky to see the U.K. new lord of chief justice, Sir Ian Burnett, at the Royal Courts of Justice in central London before his swearing-in ceremony.  After starting steemit blogs I decided to go around and share some photos to steemians.

The morning sky is clear and blue, I had a good feeling because it is not raining.  I walked down Fleet Street and took a photo at distance.  Crossing the street and inside the Bell Yard, I arrived at the back of the Court.  There is a famous and one of the oldest London jewellery shop, the silver mousetrap was one of the lady's favourite at 17th century to help lady keep hair sculptures, a fashion followed French the Marquise of Fontange, a mistress of King Louis XIV.  With high cost of land, rent, expenses, this shop must be doing an amazing business or magic.  Seeing quite several photographers were standing around, I paused and started looking around. Next police motorcycles were roaming nearby with siren and flash lights.  Few minutes later this is what you see from the photos.  Like other photographers I took few good photos as well.

Walked through to the other side or west, you can see the famous London School of Economics (LSE) next to the Court.  The statue of Samuel Johnson, Dr. Johnson, is standing at the right front of the Court, in the middle island.  He was one of the most greatest literary figure of the 18th century, compiled A Dictionary of the English Language.  His most famous description of London is "... when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life".  Lawyers, or solicitors, and journalists are often seen standing in front of the Court, as well as protestors

At last you see few photos of the Court in the night, showing the purple court with mysteries, stories, and your imagination.  Enjoy!
