We blame the government for everything but ultimately we are behind the corrupt government holing in it place. What ever we touch we corrupt due to our greed, for example steemit was created as a decentralised platform to eliminate corruption, but this can’t eliminate the corruption within the people that use it. Proving that the corruption is not within the government but within the people allowing the “government” to exist.
I couldn't have said it better myself, you are correct people are flawed so there for our laws, religious beliefs, and morals are also flawed. So he/she whom as the gold (power) gets to rule the majority of us by the way "They" see fit. It's a vicious cycle....but what can we do. "Each one teach one", but at this pace, the "Good" people will always be in the shadows because we don't have the resources to compete with The Beast.
