Honestly doing work on the iPad Pro is convenient, but at times frustrating. I've had the 12.9 model for a while now and I pretty much use it exclusively.
Okay that's a lie. I use it exclusively right now because I don't own a laptop (R.I.P.).
I'm going to follow you to see how you feel about it later.
I basically just want to know if I'm being a whiny bitch.
I've had a few iPads in the past. I probably know what you mean!
I should mention that I also own an Surface Pro, but I can't even unlock it in direct sunlight, and I found the top heavy/kickstand design pretty terrible unless I'm at the desk..
Work on the iPad will probably be Steemit (heh), trading crypto, and reading. The other, less fun stuff, will probably always need a mouse and keyboard.
I was so tempted by the 12.9, but I'm not sure about it leaving the house.
What are your thoughts on iOS 11? That's the real reason I got an iPad again.
I usually wait a couple weeks post hype to try a new version of iOS out.
I honestly just haven't had time to read about this one.
What are the features that made you buy it?
By the way, totally get the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. It makes life a ton easier.
The changes in iPad iOS 11 are many, but the big ones allow for better multitasking.
You get a flick-up macOS style icon dock, and left side split screen windows are now width adjustable just like the right side (finally).
Also, drag'n drop files between windows, and a file explorer app.
These could be game changers for me, as I typically work with at least 2 things going at once.
Either way, I've just sort of given up on laptops. It's either large screens and seated at a desk, or something I can use even when walking on the beach.
So I saw you upvoted my t-shirt post.
I drew that with the Apple pencil.
If you're interested in toying with that sort of thing download Procreate.
It is the bomb dot com.
I kinda suspect you work for Apple.
xD
Lol I wish. I wouldn't be this broke.
I work two jobs.
One is a non-profit helping the disabled.
One doing house rehabs for extra money.
All hustle, no luck.
Yeah I got you. I honestly need a more mobile solution to suit my nomadic lifestyle.
Whether that's an iPad or a laptop.
For casual web stuff I prefer the iPad any day. When it comes to editing not so much.
I'm glad they finally fixed the multi-tasking. They might as well have named the old way, "open a tiny useless box on the right side to look cooler than your friends with cheap android tablets mode".
It's frustrating when it takes an entire year or two to get any progress with software. They tie new features to hardware releases, which boggles my mind... until I realize why I've just bought a new iPad!
After all these years, though, Android tablet apps are still nonexistent. And Windows is utter garbage without a pointing device...
The MacBook 12 inch was also on my list. But after the Surface Pro experience (thankfully purchased used), I had to give this a shot. So far, I'm not disappointed. I'll consider the accessories next.
I do my little steemit comics with the pencil.
Smart Keyboard > Apple Pencil.
Love both though.
