Oh hey there how you doing ? so i was wondering this morning on how Africans can benefit from steemit while adding value to the steemit community
Africa is a continent (Most people don't know that anyways) and it makes up 6% of the earth’s land surface, with over 30 islands. Its area covers 415,873 square kilometers (258,411 miles). and with a population of over 1.1 billion people in 2014, the 55 countries of Africa represented 16% of the world’s population.
Africa has the youngest population in the world, the median age is 19.9 compered to the worldwide median of 30.4 in 2012, The youth represent 60% of the continent's unemployed according to the World Bank.
so why do Africa have so much unemployed youths ?
Lack of vision by the local decision makers and leaders is one of the major cause of unemployment, the explosion of population and global global financial crises are another major cause.
Lack of unity is a major problem in africa and we know it but we do nothing about it,fortunately, Steemit is here, steemit can unite young African entrepreneurs who have ambitions for this beautiful continent.
There are youth's out here is Africa who have amazing ideas of adding value to their immediate community and to their selves but the "lack of vision" by our leaders cripple's us to a still. In Nigeria, it is very common to find a university graduate doing menial jobs, they sell recharge(mobile phone calling) cards, they work as labourers in factories and building construction sites and what every they can think of
There is this ideology within Nigerian undergraduates that after their graduation, there is a 30/70 chance of finding a job to being unemployed and this has forced them to become creative with awesome ideas, but there again our leaders "lack of vision" come crashing on us, cementing our ideas to just be an idea that will never be initiated.
In 2014, 13 job applicants at Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment centres across the country died in a stampede, Hundreds of thousands applicant went to apply for the job in the 36 test centers including Nigeria's capital, Abuja. More than 60,000 applicants filled the National stadium In Abuja alone and access to the stadium was granted through just a single door and the picture bellow shows you how it looked like
Steemit can fuel this ideas, steemit can create jobs in Africa, Steemit can help the African youth's to help the continent live above the poverty line, There is just so much steemit can do. Steemians like @xpency @tj4real and many others are doing nice jobs in introducing Steemit to Nigerian's fresh university graduates, do you see where this is going?
Okay, so i believe each country in africa should have hundreds of people like @xpency to spread the news about Steemit and these people will add value to the Steemit community while getting rewarded for that, it's a chain reaction
I don't even know how to properly end this post, but if you have suggestions, please share it with us on the comment section and resteem. Thank you. oh! Don't forget to Upvote and follow me also
