Let's face it, there is suddenly a little too much "money" to be made on Steemit for people outside the community to not start paying attention to it. With some Steemit blogs dedicated entirely to posting other people's content - without authorization - how long will the Wild West atmosphere last? Please comment to let me know what you think.

thanks for sahring this helpful vedio
i dont think it has a copyright problem, i once used someone pictures in my article and was penalised . i lost all the earnings, and the @cheetah bot is alway checking for plagiarized articles
I have just joined Steemit but I THINK I saw an article about plagiarism when I was setting up my account. The article mentioned a bot that scanned for text. I pictured it to be like the one that universities and colleges use on essays and dissertations.
If it's not working then that is a problem. I saw a few top characters of the YouTube truth community that follow that account while looking for accounts to follow. I presumed it was legit but I don't follow the real site so didn't follow the Steemit version either.
I would like to hope that the followers are aware that they are not following the real thing. Problems that may occur with that could be deliberate twisting of events and reporting which is then absorbed by 'truthers' and parroted back as fact (which is essentially what happens with these news outlets on YouTube).
Great observation, a standard of scrutiny everyone should have especially if they claim to be reporting the truth about the media.
I'm not a news agency so getting footage of anything, I'm talking new content, is almost impossible for some subjects and really most subjects that i do videos on. Other than i can say some shit in front of a camera like many people do but its not my style. Not trying to be a personality. I just want my point across and I do that by basically making a collage of others content under the fair use law it says if you modify or commentate or do parody you can use other people content. That is pieces of it. But it doesn't specify a time limit. As far as i have seen. I'm not monetized on you tube and I'll probably never cash out of this platform because I owe the government over 50,000 dollars in student loans. So I'm not able to open a bank acct. I'm off the grid for real.
My uncle had a way around this but it did take some money but you got it back. Not sure if it still works as a loophole. He would enroll at a jr. College, like 18 units. Then send that proof to Sally Mae and tell them he was students again. Then drop the classes and repeat when the time came. Im not telling you to do this just telling you that there are loopholes.
Goodluck and i do agree, esp with pics. When i use google search and change it to images i don't check I right click and download. Google gives us that option so shouldn't they be at fault?
steemit copyr8 :)
Of course copyright infringement isn't okay. And people who steal other people's content, should be flagged.
But the problem here, is the finality of the block-chain. Ones posts are stored in a blog and pushed into the network. They can't be removed. So that's going to cause problems in the future.
Normally with copyright infringement, someone can do a so called 'take-down notice' and claim a compensation.
But here, the published content can only be deleted for a few short amount of time. And their isn't even a legal entity to go to.
Thanks Nathan, once again you have awoken me,cheers!
what if we cannot copy content from steemit and copy from some other website?is that is also in copy right ?
