...but...WHO CARES??
At the end of April the price per SBD started to steadily climb up.
It had its peaks at around 2.1 USD and its current price is at 1.83 USD
For those of you who may not knew it yet, here is the definition of STEEM Dollar.
From the FAQ:
"Steem Dollars (commonly abbreviated SBD) are liquid stable-value currency tokens designed to be pegged to $1 USD."
"What?!? One $1 USD? So why is it trading for much more?" you may ask.
There definately are enough Posts about the possible reasons for that, but what I am really interested in is:
WHO CARES?
Im trying to think of the (negative) effects of the SBD being traded for double the intended value. I just do not find any.
Of course, the Post rewards are getting (kind of) out of balance, but I dont see a negative impact there.
So please, Steemit Community:
Enlighten Me!
What could be the negative effect of that, or do you think it really does not matter?
Discuss!

I agree, I can't figure out why anyone would complain that SBD is worth more! I am skeptical of any crypto that claims to be pegged to any specific value. How can that possibly be enforced? Let it grow and let's get rich :)

wasn't SBD suppose to be pegged to the USD ? Now it seems that it has more value then the USD .. defeats all purpose of having the SBD. but heck .. i'm not complaining.
Exactly this is the question! ;)
If people value the SBD more than the dollar, what is there to complain about?
Considering how hyped the rest of the crypto/token market has been, I'd say it holds up (or should I say down) rather well after all.
If it breaks 2 and heads towards 4 dollars though, that would come off as a bit weird to me. Then maybe our expectations are wrong and we may want to make adjustments, not to bring the value down or up but to make it more stable again.
This however is better answered by some of the people on the witness list.
thank you! :)
You're welcome =)
