I agree with @slacktmusic. Facebook-like posts are not spam. In fact it can contribute to the success of steemit due to the popularity and the accessibility for a greater public. It would be nice if the social part could be more separated from the quality content. The only thing I worry about is that it won't be easy to separate both things because sometimes interpretation is the only thing that separates them both. And some authors of quality content won't think it's fair to give the Facebook-like authors the same rewards. Before you know, an endless debate about this can come with possible consequences for the platforms reputation. I think it is up to the platform developers and administrators to make some decisions about what should be allowed or not.

Completely agreed. Some clear, to the point guidelines of what can be tolerated and what can not be tolerated should be provided by the platform owners.
The fact that I need to ask the question what other people consider to be spam is a good illustration to that.
If it would be stated clearly, there would be no need for such questions
