I joined a couple of days ago. I was quite proud of myself, after all I'm a 52 year old grandmother who rather prides myself on being fairly up to date with technology. I'm a keen gamer, avid YouTube fan (especially the alien/conspiracy sites), and love being active on social media.
I found Steemit on YouTube, and after completely missing the boat on Bitcoin, I was immediately intrigued. What could be easier....a social media site like Facebook that pays you to post? Count me in I thought.
In just 2 short days, I've managed to make some posts, gain a few followers, learn how to upvote/comment/resteem and insert pictures. All this without actually owning a computer, just a mobile phone.
I realise it's very early days for me, and I'm not expecting to make an instant fortune (to be honest, the money is kind of a bonus), but the more I discovered, the more I realise I don't know.
So, I'll take this one day at a time, try to learn at least one new thing a day and if anyone out there wants to look at my posts and offer any simple tips (that even my archaic brain can grasp), I would be eternally grateful.
Welcome to Steemit. It is often the simpler posts with the useful tips that are the most interesting. You certainly sound sharp enough, and I look forward to reading your future posts.
Thank you so much. I'm very much looking forward to this. I've certainly had some fun so far.....even though my brain hurts. Lol
Tip 1: get a computer. :P Seriously I can't imagine how hard it must be for you to post while on a phone.
LOL. I've been able to run a business, keep accounts, and do marketing for the last five years without a computer (all on my phone). I keep holding out but I know I'm going to have to bite the bullet at some point. The posts I've made so far have been created on my smart phone and between my Chromecast and PS4 I've felt technologically fulfilled. You're absolutely right though....maybe I'll earn enough Steem to buy one. LOL
I guess technically all you really need is a keyboard, just so it's faster to comment and post. If you have that, then I guess it's just a little unusual that you do so much without a computer.
I've got a wireless keyboard, not for my phone, I use it when gaming, but apparently I can even get a printer for my phone. Although, I'm getting quite fast, typing on here. I will get a computer though, my friends have been nagging me about it and sooner or later I'm going to meet some obstacle that the smartphone can't overcome. LOL
Sign up to your local Freecycle and you could probably get a perfectly adequate computer for free.
That's a great idea. Thank you.
You're doing great... Actually ahead of the curve... Keep it up and keep learning... Its what keeps us young ;)
Thank You. It's great to have the feedback. Of course, your posts are also helping enormously.
We work together :) ... Stay in touch and let me know if I can help further. And nice to meet you too!!!
