Tuyo - [Genus Sardinella]
Many small and tiny fish are salted and dried in the Philippines and are generally called Daing, but sardines are important enough to have their own name, Tuyo. It was once considered food for the poor, since it was inexpensive, but today it is appreciated by all social classes.
Best served with fried rice and vinegar with garlic and chili for the dip!
Happy Eating!

nakakagutom naman
Man that looks good. Great to be a Filipino and easily appreciate that food. Have not had it for a while. I could already imagine the fish in vinegar. Mouth is savoring for it. I'll tell my wife to cook it for breakfast soon. Keep posting and good luck .
