Tech Giants Battle Over Devices/Products
Google and Amazon have been able to grow separately the past few years. However, facing increasing competition to get the attention and money of millions of consumers around the globe, the two tech giants have begun to undermine each other with not so subtle tactics.
Today, Google removed its YouTube app from Amazon devices, sparking outrage and a response from Amazon. Google, angry that Amazon did not give its products relevance on their site, pulled the app from two of their devices. Amazon, with their Echo device, is not apt to sell Google's Home device on their site and spark even more competition. Google, on the other hand, is making extensive headway into partnering with Walmart to create their own e-commerce giant.
Amazon has definitely been the antagonist of this story, blocking sellers from marketing Google and Nest products on Amazon.com. It's about time Google started fighting back with a ban of their own.
