Bodybuilding Idolization Is A Complete Waste of Time:
The world of body-building has never been the same with freaks of nature like Rich Piana openly admitting to using steroids since the age of 18. Now, after 28 years of injecting anabolic steroids into his system, its time to pay the piper. Unfortunately for him, paying the piper involved his life after affecting his entire body with the consumption of PED's.
Needless to say, steroids are fun for a few years, but it reflects a yearning to be noticed. An intense, desire to make yourself "better" than everybody else. This mentality oftentimes stems from a lack of given attention as a child or being treated unfairly/unjustly early on in life. Generally, bodybuilding is a condition of the mind that arises from a feeling of diminished value to society. Steroids will only give you grief in the future - mental and physical debilitation at a rapid, devastating pace.
Rich often posted pictures of his massive gains on Instagram and other social media, ripped to the max and touting his 9 meals a day diet and superhero-like workouts. Coupled with that, he would take tons of supplements to prop up his massive physique and maintain his figure, while while hidden from view, his insides crumbled and broke down.
It's definitely sad to hear of his passing, but the obvious moral of the story is that short-term pleasures like steroids, drugs, or smoking can lead to long-term effects like mental disorders, cancer, and eventually, a shortened life. But that reflects where your true values in life lie.
There is more than meets the eye, however.
Life is equivalent to the blink of an eye in the scope of eternity. By making muscle gains and obsessions with yourself an idol, you're giving up on an even more rewarding devotion to living your life to the fullest pleasure of God.
