Although I prefer not to dive into all out conspiracy, I am only sharing my idea for how this could take over and potentially even control society. Steemit is very unique because it is not censored in the manner that Facebook and Twitter have shown to be.
Assuming that Reddcoin is able to integrate with the existing mega-social network platforms, advertising would be incentivized. If a person, or company wanted to advertise by using the Reddcoin they would pay for their ad, and the social network gets paid, and incentivizes users to click those ads. That incentive could also be used by the entity advertising (promise of rewards) to gain even more attention. The framework is already in place, and rather than move to a new platform, wouldn't it make more sense for them to keep people using by incentive? Is this a good or bad thing?
Unfortunately, I have considered some dangerous downsides to this. Facebook already is one of the biggest collections of personal data in the world. The ability to censor media, or commerce for any reason due to the fact that they would be the first to know what was trending. If they wanted to suppress that information for any reason, it is clear that the ability to do so is there. This could be a dangerous weapon with platforms that tens of millions of people are on already, and a way to sway public opinion.
This doesn't make Reddcoin bad in any way or form. There is a market for it, and the demand is going to be huge. If anyone remembers the migration from Myspace to Facebook in the past, I don't think that is what will happen here, I think that the solution will be given to the platforms, and they will see that it leaves the people that control a social platform with a lot of power.
In conclusion, I really feel that steemit represents a much more liberty oriented platform for social media. That is not going to determine whether people use it over other platforms. I think all of this will happen and the price that Reddcoin is at now will seem impossibly low when this takes hold. There may be no mass migration, and it would be interesting to see how loyal steemit users are, and whether or not steemit can draw more users once that is done. I recently purchased Reddcoin, and I am not going to be phased by the pump/dump, I think it will work for me. I don't plan to leave steemit any time soon. What do you think?
Very interesting my friend well worth keeping an eye on Reddcoin. Cheers
It is decentralized so they do not need to partner, but I think it is more likely Zuckerberg will want to in order to get his fingers in the profits....and control content. Reddcoin is a great idea and there is a community built up that is trying to tip people for youtube content to try to get it out there more. Going to be pretty big I think.
If that Zuckerberg rat is involved, he will milk it for everything he can get. Cheers
I refuse to use Facebook anymore. I don't care if they pay crypto or not...
I have to agree, if I am correct, the amount of power that few could wield would be unaccountable and uncontrollable.
Thanks for sharing your perspective. As for Avva (that's me). I def won't be using FB at all - ever again for personal posts.
I can't blame you. I am not a fan myself, people seem so hollow.
@lumlum85 you got message on steemit.chat
Nice article. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I do believe in blockchain. But since the market is more inflated as with the internet boom we do have to see the high risk investment the cryptomarket currently is. Besides coinmarketcap.com there is: https://www.coincheckup.com An amazing crypto research site. They researched every single crypto out there. This is truly great.
