There is only one rule on steem: Be Authentic ❗️

in #steemit8 years ago

As one of the many newcomers and 'minnows' here I actually try to read a lot and curate to get a feeling how steem works and whats involved to be successful here.

I checked out a lot of you guys, whales 🐳, dolphins 🐬 , minnows 🐟 and all in between to see what strategies lead to success 🥇 and which will probably fail 👎.

There's a lot of different ways to become a successful steemer but I won't cover them here. Maybe later in a dedicated post.

The general conclusion I made during my first 3 days here is, that the most important thing is

Authenticity

Just be who you are will bring you the most traction because everyone else will feel if you stand behind your words.
All this plagiarism, copy/paste, imitating strategies of people with a different mind set or trying to please everyone and so on rarely ever lead to success here. ❌
Sure, some will gain attention from similar fellows, but its never a long term success story. If you know one which is, let me know!!

I like to say and write things in my way and it doesn't matter too much if everyone likes it. Some will and some won't. But thats how it is in life and being authentic will lead you further than anything else. Period! 🙏

Happy Steeming 😃

Thanks! Can't wait till I'm one of those WHALES! ..I can only dream it until its reality

don't dream, work on it.. it's a long road 🛣

Welcome and followed!

I like your text because I think alike. I mean, I could work harder to be more successful (though I have a life in the nonvirtual world with friends and work and hobbies...) but I cannot post stuff that's not "me".
Again: good post and good advice!

Thanks, great to find likeminded here 😀

Great blog and article! Would love to hear you feedback on my blog when and if you have time! I am not a journalist nor writer per se but I am new and trying to develop my own voice and style.

A few days ago, I commented on someone in a similar way... Especially if you are new here, it's hard to contain yourself and stay authentic. I just do my thing, and who likes it, well that's nice... if people don't like it, so be it...
