Let's face it, SteemIt could improve its communication and transparency. I was going to original write about 2 strange transactions from the SteemIt account, but have found it discussed only here (author @anxiouspublic; new account; only post; puppet account) and was responded to by @ned.
@ned wrote: Thanks for bringing these up: @boostit is an integral piece of a new promoted content algorithm we are working on. amcq and goku1 belong to a new hire - our new Head of Operations. Buying Steem Dollars is part of our ongoing strategy to obtain the stability and interest of the SD
Let me explain. SteemIt has hired Alexandr McKeown, his IntroduceYourself is here and account @amcq, as Head of Operations for SteemIt and awarded him a total of 500,000 steem-power as some part of deferred compensation, split between accounts @goku2 and @amcq . Please understand that SteemIt is in competition with the likes of Facebook and Reddit, so this compensation is probably in-line with his peers.
In his introduction, Alexandr wrote:
I may post on here from time to time about both business and pleasure. That will kick off shortly with a few job positions we will be hiring for so keep an eye out – who better to hire than the capable members of the Steem community?
This appointment can only improve the community relationship. Ned and Dan simply had too much work on their plate to keep everyone informed and satisfied.
So, what might the community ask of Alexandr? Successful organizations have strong employee engagement. We bloggers are like independent contractors.
Meetups. Maybe the various meetups, like the one anwenbaumeister held in San Francisco here, should reach out to Alexandr for a person message, either in person or video chat.
Weekly Message. The CEO of my employer sends out a weekly recording, discussing things that are going on at the company.
Better Communication and Transparency. Steem is a social beast. Maybe disclose significant transactions before they hit the blockchain so that users do not have to create sock puppet accounts to ask (for fear of being downvoted to oblivion.)
Please add your own expectations in the comments as well. I hope that Ned or Alexandr may read through them.
Good to see a rounding out of the #steemit 'brains trust'. As someone heavily and 100% invested into authoring and 100% SP, I am comforted to see such moves by the team. Also, nice article. Followed. Upvoted.
